Adding Your First Watch

The "Watch Entry" is the foundation of your digital collection. This guide will walk you through the process of registering your timepiece correctly to ensure a smooth certification process.

/1. Navigating to the Dashboard

Log in to your account and head to the Watches section. Here you will see an overview of your current collection (if any). Click the "New Watch" button to start.

/2. Entering the Technical Data

Accuracy is critical here. The data you enter will be cross-referenced during the validation phase.

  • Brand: Select the manufacturer (e.g., Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet).
  • Model: Enter the full model name (e.g., Submariner Date).
  • Reference Number: The manufacturer's model code (e.g., 126610LN).
  • Serial Number: The unique identifier for your specific unit. This is often found between the lugs or on the rehaut.
  • Year: The year the watch was originally sold or manufactured. If unknown, select Estimated.

/3. Financial & Provenance Details (Private)

You can optionally enter your purchase date and price. This information is for your personal records only and is not shared on the public verification page unless you choose to include it in a transfer.

/4. The Power of Photography

Photos are used for visual documentation of condition, not as a standalone certification method. When uploading images, ensure:

  • Lighting: Use natural, indirect light to avoid harsh glares on the sapphire crystal.
  • Focus: Ensure the text on the dial and the engravings of the serial number are sharp and legible.
  • Completeness: Upload photos of the full front, the back, and the profile showing the crown.

/5. Saving Your Record

Once complete, click "Save Watch". Your watch will now appear in your dashboard with a status of "Draft", "Pending certification", or "Uncertified". You can now move on to the final step: Requesting Certification.

Tip: If you have the original physical box and papers, take a photo of the watch sitting next to the warranty card. This provides strong initial evidence for our validation team.
